Twelve packs of pure cocaine weighing around 25 kilograms were handed over to the Dangriga police at the Stann Creek Town pier by the Belize Coast Guard in Dangriga around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 19. The drugs were immediately taken to Belmopan, where they were labeled as found property and were deposited in a storeroom, awaiting destruction.
Police said that the drugs were found floating at sea.
Senior Superintendent Robert Mariano said that after an investigation, they are satisfied that the cocaine is found property and no one will be charged for it.
