Youth, 20, stabbed to death in Cristo Rey

CrimeYouth, 20, stabbed to death in Cristo Rey

Around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, October 11, in Cristo Rey, Leroy Moses Tzib, 21, of Cristo Rey, was stabbed to death.

Police said that Tzib went to buy a phone card at a nearby store and got into an argument with a man of the same village. Tzib then left the area and was walking home when he was approached from behind by a man who stabbed him multiple times in the neck and back, killing him almost immediately.

The killer then escaped into the surrounding area.

Residents in the area called police, who went to the scene, and Tzib was taken to the San Ignacio Town Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival that same Friday night.

Police said that their investigation led to the arrest of Giovanni Pech, 24, of Cristo Rey, who was charged with murder.

Pech, 24, was taken to the San Ignacio Magistrate’s Court today, where he was arraigned for Tzib’s murder, and was remanded to prison until December 18, when he will be returned to court.
