Akeem Smith, 21, a resident of 9180 Holy Emmanuel Street, joined Jeon Peebles in prison after he was charged with the attempted murders of Ellis Meighan, Jr., and Malik Dixon, which occurred on October 10, 2012.

According to police, Peebles and Smith tried to shoot at Meighan and Dixon, and their intent was to kill them both.

Peebles was arraigned on October 16, 2012, just six days after the shooting.

Arraigned on that same day, Meighan was separately charged with the attempted murder of Delone Vernon in a shooting incident which had occurred days earlier.

Peebles has been remanded pending trial, and this morning, Smith was also remanded for his alleged part in the crime.

No pleas were taken from Smith for the two counts of attempted murder on Meighan and Dixon, due to the nature of the offense.

His case has been adjourned to January 30, 2014.
