BELIZE CITY–The 33-year-old father of a 12-year-old girl, of a Jane Usher Boulevard address, is accused of taking her to his house in the Lake I area on Independence Day Eve and raping her.

The incident allegedly occurred at about 6:00 Saturday evening, September 20.

When the child went home on Sunday, she reported the sexual abuse to her mother, and they went to the police on Sunday, Independence Day, and made a formal report that her father, a Salvadoran, had repeatedly raped her.

Police took the girl to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where she was examined by a doctor. At the conclusion of the examination, the doctor confirmed that the girl had been carnally known

Police immediately began a search for the father of the girl. They found him and have charged him with rape/incest.
