ORANGE WALK, Thurs. Apr. 27, 2023
A fire on Mopan Street in Orange Walk Town has left a mother and her partner displaced after it gutted their home late Wednesday.
Reports reveal that on April 26, at approximately 9:00 p.m., police responded to news of a fire on Mopan Street, where the home of Maria Rosado, a Belizean resident who was away for medical attention in Merida City, Mexico, was completely engulfed in flames.
Rosado’s daughter, Leidy Hall, 42, of Mullins River Street, was present to report to the police and explained that the structure was actually being occupied by Rosado’s partner, George Anglin, and it could have been a mistake on his part.
No one was harmed by the fire, and police have since opened an investigation into how it started and the value of the house and its contents.
Lamentably, the house was not ensured.
