The Gwen Lizarraga High School and Wesley College boys both enjoyed big wins in the Central Secondary Schools Sports Association (CSSSA) male football tournament which continued at the Marion Jones Sports Complex with 3 matches on Saturday afternoon, February 1.

In Game 1, the Edward P. Yorke High School boys held the Sadie Vernon Technical High boys to a 1-1 draw, when Devon Augustine (5′) struck first for Sadie Vernon; but Amir Ahmad (17′) found the back of the net from an indirect kick on the edge of Sadie Vernon’s 6-yard box: 1-1 final.

In Game 2, the Wesley College boys picked up their first 3 pts, when the Belize High School boys were a no-show for their scheduled match.

In Game 3, the defending champs, the Gwen Liz boys enjoyed their 2nd win, 7-0, over the Excelsior High School boys, led by hat tricks from both Jamar Bradley (4′, 26′ & 60′) and Raymond Gentle (18′, 36′ & 54′). Devin McCaulay (48′) delivered the 5th goal.

The Excelsior boys had done better in a 15-0 blast of the Belize High School boys last Tuesday evening, January 28.
