BELIZE CITY, Mon. May 1, 2023

It is our pleasure to announce the Belize Athletic Association’s (BAA) 2023 contingent to attend the XXXIV CADICA Games in San Jose, Costa Rica, May 6-7. For this year’s selection we based our choices on strict standards that were set out based on the previous year’s medal contention, and availability of athletes due to other international commitments or injury/illness limitations.

Our Selection is as follows: (All 5 for Male 4×100); Brandon Jones – TJ (Triple Jump), 100m, 4×100; Joas Mejia – LG (Long Jump), 100m, 4×100; Mark Anderson – 100m, 4×100; Gianni Jones – 200m, 4×100; Glenford Williams – 200m, 110H (Hurdles), 4×100.

Unfortunately, due to injury and untimely illnesses we will not be sending a female team to this year’s CADICA Games. President Deon Sutherland will be traveling as Head of Delegation, and PR Executive Gregory Meyers will be traveling as Head Coach.

The team will assemble on May 2nd at 4:00 p.m. at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex to commence relay training for Quartet to make a qualifying bid to the CAC Games in July and subsequently the World relays in April of next year!!!
