Crime“Chucky” charged for stabbing high school student with protractor

The victim, 17, was stabbed under her left eye

Shandi “Chucky” Tillett, 25, was charged with wounding when she appeared before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith this afternoon.

According to police, Tillett lay in wait for a female student at the gate of Gwen Lizarraga High School and attacked the student, 17, as the student walked through the gates. Tillett allegedly asked the girl what type of rivalry existed between her and Tillett’s little sister, but before the student could even respond, she was stabbed in her face.

The student told police that she felt a burning sensation under her left eye and noticed that blood was dripping from her face. She was then taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where a doctor examined her and certified her injury as a wound.

Tillett was unrepresented when she appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to the charge. She was offered and met bail of $500 and one surety of the same amount, and was ordered to stay away from the victim. She is scheduled to appear back in court on January 10, 2014.
