DANGRIGA–T.V. Ramos Cycling Classic

The T.V. Ramos Cycling Classic yesterday in Dangriga was a big success. In an exciting sprint to the finish in the Open race, which went from the Wadani Shed to Placencia and back, the T.V. Ramos Classic Champion was Brandon Cattouse (Team C-Ray), who defeated Byron Pope (Benny’s Megabytes) by a bicycle wheel. 2nd place went to Byron Pope; 3rd was Joel Borland; and 4th Tarique Cano (Western Spirit). There were 5 teams that took part in the race – Benny’s Megabytes, C-Rays, Team Smart, C-4 Police Cycling Team, and Western Spirit, along with individual Cross Country riders.

In the Junior results: 1st was Wilson Aciencio (Belmopan Cycling Club); 2nd Kaydine Pinelo (Belize City); 3rd Joel Vanegas (Belmopan); 4th Patrick Williams (Team Smart); and 5th Darien Anderson (Team Smart).

In addition, award for Best Dangriga Masters went to Ridzen Flowers; the only female in the “B” category was Kaya Cattouse (C-Ray); and the only female in the “C” category was Julie Williams (FT Williams).

Dangriga Amateur Cycling Association would like to give a huge Thank You to the Cycling Federation of Belize, all cyclists who took part in this year’s T.V. Ramos Classic, and also all who assisted to make the 2014 T.V. Ramos Classic a big success.

18th night friendly, Wagiya vs Verdes

It’s still on. At 5:30 p.m. there will be an Over-40 matchup between Dangriga Over-40 and Belmopan Over-40, followed by a top league semipro friendly featuring Wagiya FC vs Verdes FC at 7:30 p.m., tomorrow night, Tuesday, November 18, inside Griga’s Carl Ramos Stadium, a pre-Garifuna Settlement Day showdown.
