SportsHORSERACING - ON BOXING DAY
Boxing Day, December 26, brought back exciting horse racing in beautiful Burrell Boom Village at the Castleton Race Track. It was a 9-race card.

The First race of the day was the RURAL CABLE NETWORK CUP G CLASS, going 3 furlongs. “Something” ran over a five-horse field. “Misty” was second, while “Calistar” was third. “Blondie” and “Sky Dancer” rounded out the last two spots, in that order. Winning Jockey was “Bull”.

The Second race of the day was the CDS GAS & BNE ALVAN BODDEN, JR. MEMORIAL F CLASS, going 4 furlongs. “Flaco” from Gabourel Stables made it look too easy, as he slaughtered a six-horse field. “Black Gold” was second, leaving “Precious Gift” in third. “General” was fourth, “Sir Bullet” fifth, and rounding off the last spot was “Carmelo”. Winning jockey was young and upcoming Dwayne “Ducat” Cox.

The Third race of the day was the SUNJAY E CLASS,going 4 furlongs. “Foxy Lady” from Fox Stables got over “Lucky Shot” and favorite “Hot Coin”. “Ruby” was fourth, “Miss Rebel” fifth, leaving “Shut” to take the last spot. Winning jockey was Earl “Revolutor” Budd.

The Fourth race of the day was the BNE 2 YR. OLD THOROUGHBRED FOR COLTS & FILLIES, going 5 furlongs. Britney’s “Time to Shine” got over Canton’s “Fina” and Victory Stables’ “Shush”. Winning jockey was “The Revolutor”.

The Fifth race of the day was the BNE 2 YR. The Sixth race of the day was the SUNJAY C CLASS,going 6 furlongs. “Sir Charles” from Leiva’s Stables got over Alpuche’s “Unfinished Business” and Ermeav’s “Wave Motion,” in that order. Winning jockey was Carlos Rodriguez.

The Seventh race of the day was the RF&G THOROUGHBRED ALLOWANCE, going 7 furlongs. Britney’s Stables’ “Halo & Goodbye” scorched Hulse’s “Ali High,” to take this one. Winning jockey was “The Revolutor”.

The Eighth race of the day was the GEORGE & ESTELLA AUGUST MEMORIAL B CLASS, going 7 furlongs. Samuel’s Stables’ “April” showed it was no fluke back in November, 2008, as she scorched a five-horse field. Valencia’s “Blessed Kid” was second, while Cuello’s “Watch Me Run” was third. “Looking Freaky” was fourth, while Leiva’s “Death Warrant” ran a disappointing last. Winning Jockey was young and upcoming “Ducat”.

The Ninth and final race of the day was the L&R OLD MASTER MILE, going eight furlongs. Urbina’s Stables’ “D-Star” came back strong, after being out of the winners circle for a few, as she ran over the five-horse field. Second was Britney’s Stables’ “Britney’s Surprise,” while Diamond-A’s “Spirit of God” was third. Cuellos’ “Victory Kiss” was fourth, leaving Duncker’s newcomer “Black Jack” with the last spot.
