BELIZE CITY, Wed. July 16, 2025

Kulture Yabra FC and Plaza United enjoyed season-opening wins in the Belize District Football Association (BDFA) and Social Security Board (SSB) Over-40 “Health and Wellness” football tournament, which kicked off at Berger Field in Belize City on Sunday, July 13.

In Game 1, Kevin Rowland’s brace led Kulture Yabra’s 4-2 win over Survivors FC. Rowland scored the 1st goal, and Jerome “Jarro” James delivered the 2nd goal. Reynaldo Duran reduced the Survivors’ deficit before the half, and Juan Gonzalez equalized at 2-2 after the break.

Kevin Rowland scored the 3rd winning goal and Diego Dussan put the game on ice with a header to finish a corner kick late in the 2nd half.

In Game 2, Plaza United won, 3-2, over Berger United, led by Leon Rowley’s brace and Godfrey Jenkins scored the 2nd goal. Paulie “Fabulous” Bradley struck Berger’s 1st goal, and Francisco Morgan equalized at 2-2 for Berger. Leon Rowley delivered Plaza’s 3rd and winning goal 10 minutes before the final whistle.
