BELIZE CITY, Wed. Mar. 17, 2021– A brazen daytime shooting that took place on Wednesday afternoon has claim the life of a 24-year-old man and left another youth with a gunshot injury to his right arm.

Reports are that on Wednesday around 2:30 p.m., Percival Pilgrim and minor, both alleged member of the Banak Zone Gang, were ambushed by a three gunman who suddenly came out a yard on Lake View Steet and fired several shots in their direction.

Pilgrim was shot multiple times, and was wounded in the head and abdomen area. He was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) and immediately underwent surgery.

Unconfirmed reports are that he was hit at least 10 times, and initially survived the attack but succumbed to his injury in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

A police investigation into this recent shooting is ongoing.
