Over-40 cancelled, but Yabra Sports Day on Saturday a success

SportsOver-40 cancelled, but Yabra Sports Day on Saturday a success

BELIZE CITY, Thurs. June 23, 2022

The Over-40 football game at the MCC was cancelled, but the weather did not stop the Sports Day events at Yabra Green this past Saturday, June 18, where the Yabra Football Club had scheduled all-day Under 10 and Under 15 football as well as track and field events. The evening culminated under lights with live amateur boxing under the roof at the Yabra basketball court adjoining the football field. Sponsors of the event reportedly included the Boxing Association, Yabra Football Club and Drums Not Guns.

We asked Kulture Yabra veteran Rudolph “Bolo” McKoy if the events at Yabra took place as planned for Saturday.

Bolo replied, “Yes, it was great! The boxing took place. The turnout was wonderful! We will do it again August 1st Emancipation Day.”

   Upcoming Westline Over-40 schedule:

Saturday, June 25, MCC Grounds

3:00 p.m. – Kulture Yabra vs BDF

4:30 p.m. – Pickstock Lake vs Plaza United
