New York-based Belizean Reginald Jex, a community activist and promoter who visits Belize on a regular basis, handed over two trophies this morning to two of Belize’s outstanding athletes: Billy Musa, Jr., for his legendary accomplishment in the discipline of tennis, and Keith Acosta, the accomplished basketball player.
When Jex went to deliver the trophy to Billy Musa, Jr., at his James Brodies & Company workplace, Musa had nothing but praise for the business efficiency and integrity of Jex, who also supplies Brodies with trophies upon order.
Keith Acosta was one of the basketball players who recently performed outstandingly in the COCABA games that were played in Cancun, Me xico, in which the Belize National Team, after a questionable call from a Mexican referee, finished with a silver medal, losing only one game, to the host country’s team.
Jex also gave a specially designed trophy to the reigning Queen of the Bay this morning when she visited the Kremandala compound, along with the ten contestants who will be vying for the 2009 crown this Saturday, September 5, at the Belize City Center. The trophy’s design features the Belizean Flag.
A similarly designed trophy, with the Belizean flag, will also be presented to the Belize City Council at their fair, which is scheduled to be held on September 10.
Also, Jex says that sometime near the end of this month, he will be hosting a sports day in the village of San Pedro Columbia, Toledo District.
