Returning through Hattieville, at Mile 10 on the Western Highway, George Abraham, riding for Santino?s, got away solo, and when he was caught at Mile 5, Leroy ?Lyrics? Trapp, also riding for Santino?s, then attacked to come in solo for first place, crossing the finish line by the old George August meat shop. In the sprint that followed, 17-year-old Darnel Barrow clipped Santino, ?the Chief?, at the tape for 2nd. Santino, ?the Chief?, took 3rd while George Abraham, riding for Santino?s, took 4th, and Edwin Martinez once again rounded off the top 5. Santino?s ?Non-Elite Tour?, Stage 1 Friday, September 10th – Boom Circuit, starting at Esso Coral Grove Gas Station: Time 6:00 a.m. Point System for three races: Riders must partake in ALL stages and wear Helmets. Registration for the entire Tour – $20.00 at Ordonez Bike Shop Service Zones for Tour: All elite cyclists are asked to please stay out of the road races. Any non-elite rider caught along with elite riders will be subject to disqualification. Similarly, all motorcycle riders are asked to stay out of sprints, and to stay behind the last rider in the group you are following. If you want to see the sprint, please leave the race at the police checkpoint at Mile 4, or your rider will be subject to disqualification. Santino ?The Chief? Castillo
We invite spectators to the Criterium in Yabra on Sunday, September 12th, which will be the final leg of the Tour de Santino?s, after which trophies and prizes will be presented.
