Free lance reporter, Roy “Ryo” Davis 56, was back in court again, but it had nothing to do with the men who had attacked and robbed him back in March of this year.
Allegedly, he was detained yesterday for pushing a police constable, Wellington Welch, causing him to hit his head on the wall.
Sources tell Amandala that Davis was in the police waiting area, when he tied to converse with a prisoner. Welch, who was seated, asked Davis why he was asking the questions.
An argument then ensued between Davis and the constable, and in an exchange of words, Davis allegedly pushed the constable, subsequently causing the injuries to his head.
Today, Davis appeared in Magistrate’s Court # 1 to answer charges of assaulting a police officer, and harm. He pleaded not guilty to both charges and Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie granted bail of $1,000.
Davis is to reappear in court on October 5, 2010.
