SANDHILL, Belize District, Mon. June 5, 2023

A man identified as Danny Maskall allegedly attacked his common-law wife in their Sandhill home shortly before midnight.

Maskall’s wife reportedly caught him sending explicit text messages to another woman, an act that sparked an argument that ignited an explosive confrontation.

Having been discovered engaging in what appeared to be an illicit conversation with another woman, Maskall reportedly did not express remorse or attempt to repair the situation; instead, the argument rapidly escalated to an alarming level of violence.

Police reports indicate that, during the heated confrontation, Maskall resorted to picking up a knife and allegedly stabbed his common-law wife multiple times. The woman sustained injuries to her arm, hand and neck during the attack, which required urgent medical attention.

She was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and as of now, the severity of her injuries and her current condition remain undisclosed.

Up to press time, police have not indicated whether they have made any arrest for the attack.
