(Visit of the dance groups from Mexico and the USA)
Dear Editor,
Coincidence, it seems, arrived on the 14th of July “North of the Border” and the other arrived on stage on the 15th July from South “Afrika”. Performing the same dance but with different steps, the same love but with different intensity.
The choreography was superb and similar but different and effective. The tender butterfly wings floated among the jungle lions of South “Afrika” as the classical music filled the auditorium with the appropriate background music that was wonderfully interpreted by the dancers as they depicted the long journey the country of Mexico traveled through two hundred years of nationhood which was manicured with beauty, love and accomplishment.
Within twenty-four hours of the appearance on the Bliss stage was the same theme of a different nation. The same “dance” of a different nation with tempo and crescendo crashing down on the Bliss stage as though the hummingbirds and butterflies had metamorphosed to the beating of the drums of Afrika that depicted the twins that portrayed different talents with the same objectives.
The enormous love that was poured out to both the Mexican and Afro-American dancers is a love of genetic proportion where we can love each other, dance with each other and live in peace with each other.
Thanks to both the Mexican Embassy and the American Embassy for highlighting the love that exists within each nation. Though we are different, we are the same.
