Foundation UBAD officials and board members of the UBAD Educational Foundation (UEF) held meetings with executive members of the Universal Negro Improvement Association–African Communities League (UNIA-ACL) on Saturday evening, October 27, and Sunday morning, October 28, on the rooftop of the Kremandala building.
The international headquarters of UNIA-ACL is 1609-1611 Cecil B. Moore Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The organization was represented by Counsel General, Faruq Muhammad; Secretary General, Mrs. Mary Bota, and Mr. Zama Cook, who is the publisher and editor-in-chief of Garvey’s Voice, the organization’s official publication.
The UNIA-ACL officials were presented to UBAD and UEF by Nzinga Barkley-Waite, herself an original UBAD member and a UEF board member. Sister Nzinga was on a brief visit to Belize, but had to fly back to the States today after the death of her father.
The UNIA-ACL has two divisions in Belize. These are the Isaiah Morter/T. V. Ramos Division 301, led by President David Obi, and the Black Cross Nurses Division 302, led by President Rose Armstrong.
