The XXX National Women’s Softball Championship, hosted by the Belize Softball Federation, concluded on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Rogers Stadium.

Team Beacon (Belize City) defeated Play Chune Girls (Belmopan) 5-2 in the final game to clinch the National Championship title.
Team Beacon was led by pitcher and Tournament Most Valuabe Player, Shadalee Ho.
Belize Bank E-kyash Bulldogs captured 3rd place.
8 teams (the top 2 qualifiers from each of 4 district associations that held competitions this year) were placed into 2 groups for pool play. The top 2 teams from pool play advanced to the Championship Round.
GROUP A – (Belmopan) Play Chune Girls; (Belize City) Beacon; Crooked Tree; San Lazaro Bravers.
GROUP B – (Belize City) Belize Bank Bulldogs; Grace Kennedy Roaring Creek; Double Head Cabbage Unity; Guinea Grass.
Final Standings: Champions – Beacon; Sub-Champions – Play Chune Girls; Third Place – Belize Bank E-Kyash Bulldogs; Fourth Place – Guinea Grass.
Individual Awards:
Batting: Most Stolen Bases – Arneek Baptist (Beacon) – 7; Most Runs Batted In (RBIs) – Sharette Vernon (Belize Bank E-Kyash Bulldogs) – 6; Highest Batting Average – Kelsey Robinson (Belize Bank E-Kyash Bulldogs) – .666.
Pitching: Most Strikeouts – Ashey Lucas (Play Chune Girls) – 15; Most Wins – Shadalee Ho (Beacon) – 3.
Most Vauable Player – Shadalee Ho (Beacon).
The XXX National Women’s Softball Championship was declared open by Mrs. Brenda Johnson Gabourel, a member of the 1972 Gold Medal Belize Team at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Mrs. Johnson also threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
The Belize Softball Federation thanks all the donors, sponsors, technical staff, team players, coaching staff, umpires, security personnel and fans who all contributed to making the XXX National Women’s Championship a successful softball event.
