BELIZE CITY, Mon. Aug. 1, 2016–The Belize District Basketball Association (BDBA) Firms Tournament 2016 is winding down its regular season.

In games last Thursday night, July 28, the opener saw Infotel with the 102-82 blowout of Mayan Man Warriors; and BTL clipped Bowen & Bowen, 75-70, in the nightcap.

In Friday night’s opener, Belize City Council Dragons crushed Atlantic Bank, 84-64; and in the nightcap it was Central Health, 80-75, over Heritage Bank Heatz.

On Saturday night, July 30, there was the completion of a game from July 7 that was interrupted due to rain, and it ended on Saturday with B.C.C. Dragons defeating Central Health, 90-84. In other scheduled games this past Saturday night, Infotel won by default over Civil Aviation Drones, and also BWSL got the default win over Bowen & Bowen.

The standings as of Saturday, July 30, show Belize City Council Dragons with 18 pts (8-2), Mayan Man Warriors 17 pts (7-3); Atlantic Bank 16 pts (6-4); Infotel 15 pts (6-3); BTL 15 pts (5-5); Belize Bank Bulldogs 14 pts (5-4); BWSL 14 pts (5-4); Central Health 13 pts (4-5); Heritage Bank Heatz 13 pts (4-5); Bowen & Bowen 11 pts (2-8); and Civil Aviation Drones 7 pts (0-9).

There are three remaining regular-season games:
Game 30 – Heritage Bank Heatz vs Infotel (rained out 7 July)
Game 56 – Bulldogs vs Central Health
Game 57 – BWSL vs Drones

Dates and times for those games will be published early this week.

Quarter-finals begin this week as follows:

Friday, August 5, Quarterfinals
7:00 p.m. – (Game A) #1Dragons vs #8
8:30 p.m. – (Game D) #4 vs #5

Saturday, August 6, Quarterfinals
7:00 p.m. – (Game B) #2 vs #7
8:30 p.m. – (Game C) #3 vs #6

NOTE:   Quarterfinals are “knockout” games.  Winners of Games A and D will meet in the semi-finals, and winners of Games B and C will meet in the semi-finals.
