Brazen robber met his match in brave cop

HeadlineBrazen robber met his match in brave cop

BELIZE CITY, Thurs. June 14, 2018– A brazen robbery attempt was stopped by a brave policeman when a robber tried to rob a man who had just entered his vehicle on King Street at about 10:00 this morning.

A security camera mounted from a business on King Street showed the robber walking hurriedly towards the driver’s side of the vehicle, because the driver had just entered his vehicle.

The camera showed the robber yanking open the door and trying to pull the driver out of the vehicle. His victim, however, put up a struggle.

Fortunately for the victim, a man who turned out to be a policeman, who had parked his vehicle in front of the victim’s vehicle, got out of his car, gun in hand, and rushed toward the robber.

When the thief saw him coming, he let go of his victim and ran down a nearby alley.

That did him no good, however, because the cop pursued him and after reportedly firing some shots, apprehended him in the alley.

During the weekly police press brief held this morning at about 11 o’clock at the Raccoon Street Police Station,  police said that they had not  yet gotten the details of the attempted robbery, although the event was captured by the surveillance cameras.
