General16-year-old missing since Tuesday
A teenager from Roches Street in the Complex area of Lake Independence, Belize City, has been missing for over 48 hours and her family wants her home.

A sister of Jenna Augustine, Shawn, spoke to Amandala late tonight, explaining that her sister disappeared while on a job-search visit to Wellworth Store in town early Tuesday morning.

A normally quiet sort, the sixteen-year-old has disappeared twice previously in an attempt to rebel against her mother, and the current disappearance is for a similar reason. She has threatened not to return home because she is afraid of being disciplined for this latest indiscretion.

Shawn, however, says that her mother, Shermaine Gamboa, and uncle, KREM security guard Richard Whylie, are worried, even though in both previous cases she was quickly found. Shawn says she could be with friends, because a check with family members turned up nothing. She made an appeal to her sister to return home, without fear of being hurt.

Jenna is tall, slimly-built and brown-skinned. She wears her black hair tucked in a ponytail. She was last seen wearing a brown and pink “glittery” blouse, light blue jeans pants and pink “All-Star” tennis shoes.

Anyone with information may call the nearest police station, Crimestoppers, Shermaine Gamboa at 601-8489, or Richard Whylie at KREM or 605-4174.
