In the first game, the girls from Holy Redeemer (Belize City) defeated La Democracia Government School (La Democracia) by a score of 1-0. Shaneen Pook scored the winning goal for Holy Redeemer. The second game was an easy one for the boys from St. Ignatius Primary (Belize City) as they rolled over Lucky Strike Government School (Lucky Strike) by a score of 5-1. Andres Makin led the scoring with 4 goals while Sherwin Garcia scored one for St. Ignatius. Lucky Strike?s only goal came from Raheim Jones. The second female match up and third game of the day was just as close as the first one. The girls from Queen?s Square Anglican (Belize City) fell to New Horizon Academy (San Pedro A.C.) by the score of 1-0. Gabby Miranda scored the winning goal for New Horizon. The fourth game was another exciting San Pedro/Belize City match up. In this game, the boys from San Pedro A.C. R.C. (San Pedro A.C.) and St. John?s Primary (Belize City) battled to a 1-1 tie as regulation came to an end. John Romero scored the goal for San Pedro and Akeem Thurton scored the goal for St. John?s. In the ensuing penalty shoot-out, the score was tied at 3-3. In sudden death, Guillermo Salazar converted from the penalty spot to give San Pedro the big victory. In the first championship match, goals continued to be a scarce commodity in the female division. Nevertheless, Holy Redeemer needed only one to defeat New Horizon Academy. The winning goal for Holy Redeemer came from Diedra Gill. Holy Redeemer is now the female champs and will represent the Belize District in the up-coming Nationals, which will be held in Stann Creek. In the final championship match, it was the boys from San Pedro A.C. R.C. rising to the occasion as they defeated St. Ignatius Primary by a score of 1-0. John Romero scored the winning goal for San Pedro as they become the male champs and will also represent the Belize District in the Nationals.
