Match 2: Team Belize vs. Atlanta
The second match was played on Sunday, March 5, in Lords Bank. Team Atlanta had won the toss and chosen to bat first. They went on a slugfest and by the time they made their last out, they had already registered 312 runs. Team Belize did us proud as they did some slugging of their own. But it was not enough. Team Belize was fortunate in a way, as the match had to be stopped due to darkness. With only 3 overs remaining, Team Belize had only scored 247 runs with 4 wickets to spare. Eldon Wade and Conway Young led the way for Team Belize by scoring 71 runs each. Lawrence Banner and Eldon Wade took 2 wickets each.
Match 3: Excellence (Champions) vs. Team Atlanta
On Monday, March 6, in Bermudian Landing, Team Atlanta faced the Belizean champions, Excellence, in their third and final challenge of the long weekend. By now everyone thought Team Atlanta would begin to show signs of exhaustion. That was not the case, as cricket fans witnessed a close and entertaining match. In the end Team Atlanta defeated Excellence by a score of 140 to 129 runs. Kevin Edmondson scored 34 runs to lead Team Atlanta to victory. Jeremy Flowers scored 30 runs while Ian Broaster took 3 wickets in the losing effort.
