GeneralOrvin Wade sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Keisha Buller

BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Mar. 7, 2019– Orvin Wade, 33, a mechanic, who has been accused of the July 10, 2015 murder of Customs officer, Keisha Buller, 25, was found guilty several months after the conclusion of his trial on July 24, 2018.

On Monday, March 4, Supreme Court justice, Antoinette Moore, who heard the case sitting without a jury, sentenced Wade to life in prison, over 7 months after he had been found guilty. Wade, however, will be eligible for parole after he has served 25 years in prison.

Police charged Wade, who was Buller’s common-law husband, with her murder, which occurred at the couple’s home at 28 George Street, in Benque Viejo Town.

Buller, according to police pathologist Dr. Mario Estradabran, was stabbed a total of 54 times, in various parts of her body.

The prosecution’s main witness was Buller’s grandmother, who was present at the time of the incident. Apart from her, seven other witnesses took the witness stand for the prosecution.

The prosecution’s evidence was led by Senior Crown Counsel Cecil Ramirez and Crown Counsel, Natasha Mohamed.

Wade was defended by attorney J. Danilczyk.
