Executive Director of the Caribbean
Agency for Justice Solutions (CAJS),
Bevil Wooding made a courtesy call on
Belize’s Attorney General, Hon. Magali
Marin-Young, this week, during which
she expressed a desire to continue
digitally transforming Belize’s court
system through the aid of the agency.
It was with the technology of CAJS that
electronic filing and the transition from
paper-based processes to digital
operations were introduced to the Belize
Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
A press release issued by CAJS
today stated that during the meeting
with Director Wooding and his
delegation, Hon. Marin-Young made
clear her current key focuses: improved
court services, speedier justice delivery,
and the significant cost savings derived
as a result. The Attorney General also

highlighted the fact that CAJS is the
only regional body dedicated to
supporting digital transformation and
capacity building in the justice sector.
“CAJS is continuing to enhance the
technology solutions it has developed
for courts, attorneys general, mediation
firms, bar associations, and legal aid
clinics,” the release stated.
According to the press release, the

agency will also soon be providing
additional training to the courts and the
Bar Association as well as providing
support for increasing public awareness
of the new digital tools being deployed
in Belize.
