BELIZE CITY, Mon. July 10, 2023

This evening when we spoke to Nelson Pech, partner of 39-year-old Glenda Estrada – the expecting mother who was knocked down in Ladyville last night – he told us that the baby is doing fine. An emergency C-section had to be performed on the mother, while doctors simultaneously worked on saving her own life.

She survived and is now in a coma, needing the assistance of the public to help cover the medical bills to continue treatment.

At the time of the report, she was still hospitalized and in critical condition.

The accident occurred last night according to reports, when the couple went to the New Moon Supermarket in Ladyville. Estrada was hit by a vehicle driven by a 44-year-old woman, who has since been identified as Jasmine Middleton, while Pech was still inside the store. After hearing the loud noise, he came outside and saw his injured spouse. Middleton, the driver of the vehicle, has since been served with a notice of intended prosecution.

The family of Estrada is appealing to the public to help in any way they can to help cover the cost of the tests and procedures that need to be performed. Donations can be made to Nelson Pech’s Atlantic Bank account at 211899061.
