A man, 20, is in police custody pending charges of unlawful sexual intercourse after he took advantage of a girl, 14.

On Friday, the girl and her mother, both Guatemalans residing in Corozal Town, went to the police, where the girl reported that on June 5, her boyfriend, a 20-year-old man, also of Corozal Town, took her to a hotel room, where he had sex with her, after she agreed.

Police immediately launched an investigation, and the man was arrested for the offense.
